DonatoTomato vs GiveForms

A flat 1% GiveForms alternative, your logo included

GiveForms is a donation form you embed on your own website, priced as a percentage of each gift on top of your payment processing, at a lower rate if you leave its logo on your forms and receipts.

GiveForms and DonatoTomato are the same shape at the surface: a form embedded on your own site, your own Stripe underneath, and a platform percentage that sits on top of card processing. Price is close enough here that it should not decide this on its own. As of September 2026, GiveForms publishes 1.9% per successful charge when you leave a GiveForms logo on your forms and receipts, and 2.9% for a white labeled form. DonatoTomato is a flat 1% with your logo and colors either way, which puts the branded rate within a point of ours. What the flat 1% includes: automatic IRS-ready receipts carrying your EIN and the required statement, monthly recurring with a portal donors reach from a link in their email, gift dedications and a multi-fund picker, and a WordPress plugin that adds a site-wide Donate button in about a minute.

Why nonprofits choose DonatoTomato

One rate, your name on the form

A flat 1% per donation, with your logo and colors on the widget and on the receipt. Recurring giving, donor management and the optional fee-cover line all sit inside that one number.

The acknowledgment letter, sent for you

Every gift gets an automatic receipt carrying your EIN and the goods-or-services statement the IRS asks for, once your EIN and nonprofit status are on file, and your year-end statements draw on the same records.

Dedications and a choice of funds

Donors can give in honor or in memory of someone, with a note to the honoree, and one form can let them choose which fund, program or person they are supporting. Your dashboard keeps donor profiles, lifetime giving, gift history and a CSV export.

Switching from GiveForms

Setup takes minutes. Most of the switch is updating the links that pointed at your old form.

  1. 1Create a free DonatoTomato account and connect your Stripe.
  2. 2Rebuild your campaign (name, goal, photo) in about two minutes.
  3. 3Replace the GiveForms embed on your page with the DonatoTomato embed code, or turn on the WordPress floating button.
  4. 4Leave the GiveForms form up until a test donation has landed in your Stripe, then take it down.

Frequently asked questions

Is DonatoTomato cheaper than GiveForms?

The gap is narrow. As of September 2026, GiveForms publishes 1.9% per successful charge with its logo on your forms and receipts, or 2.9% for a white labeled form; DonatoTomato is a flat 1% with your branding either way, which puts the branded rate within a point of ours. Both sit on top of card processing. On a $100 card gift at Stripe's standard 2.9% + $0.30, GiveForms comes to $5.10 branded or $6.10 white labeled, and DonatoTomato to $4.20, or $3.50 if Stripe approves your organization for its nonprofit rate (as of August 2026). A point adds up at volume, and it is still the smaller reason to move.

Whose branding is on the donation form?

Yours. The widget carries your organization's logo and colors at the one flat 1%, on the form your donors fill in and on the receipt they keep. A small "Powered by DonatoTomato" line sits at the foot of the widget, and no rate is tied to it either way.

Do you support monthly recurring donations?

Yes, at the same flat 1%. Donors set up a monthly gift in the same widget, and they manage it afterwards through a self-service portal they open from a link in their email, with no account to create.

Where do donations go?

Directly into your own Stripe account. You are the merchant of record, and funds pay out to your bank on Stripe's normal schedule. DonatoTomato never holds your money.

Does DonatoTomato ask donors for a tip?

No. The only optional add-on at checkout is clearly labeled as covering the card processing fee, and it is never framed as a tip. There is no separate ask that funds DonatoTomato.
