DonatoTomato vs Zeffy
Zeffy is a platform that is free to your nonprofit because it asks your donors to add an optional tip at checkout, a tip that funds the platform.
Zeffy is genuinely free to your organization. It covers its costs by adding a suggested tip to your donors' checkout, and that tip goes to Zeffy rather than your cause. Some nonprofits love a $0 platform fee; others would rather keep their donors' checkout focused entirely on the mission and not ask them to cover a separate platform tip. DonatoTomato takes a transparent, flat 1% that you see in your own dashboard, and never adds a separate tip prompt to your donors. The optional "cover the processing fee" line is clearly labeled for what it is.

Plan your transitionNot quite, and on purpose. Zeffy is $0 to your nonprofit because it asks your donors to add a tip at checkout that funds Zeffy. DonatoTomato charges a flat, transparent 1% that you see in your own dashboard, and we do not add a separate tip prompt to your donors. If a $0 platform fee matters most, Zeffy is a fair choice; if you would rather keep checkout focused on your cause, that is the trade we made.
Because that 1% is paid by your organization and visible, rather than paid by your donors as an optional checkout tip that funds the platform. Many nonprofits prefer their donors' money to go entirely to the cause, with a small platform fee they control.
